Steven Beck
celebrates a goal at Llangefni last season.
STEVEN Beck is the first of The New Saints' out-of-contract players to commit to the club for
next season.
The 23-year-old midfielder has recently undergone a hernia operation, but is expected to be
fit to resume training on June 2 ahead of what will be his sixth season with the club.
An England Under-16 international and former member of the Everton youth academy, Beck played
for the Toffees' Under-18s in 2001/2 and was a member of the under-19 squad in 2002/3, before
being released on a free transfer.
Since arriving at TNS he has scored 27 Welsh Premier goals from 84 appearances, made five Champions
League starts plus one as sub and two appearances from the bench in the Uefa Cup.
Beck also scored the winning goal in the FAW Premier Cup final last year when the Saints beat
Newport County 1-0.
With most of the squad on holiday since the end of the season, management duo Andy Cale and
Mike Davies expect to complete most of the remaining player negotiations later this week and are also running the rule over several potential new signings.
