Pip out for eight weeks with hamstring injury
Thursday 02 September 2010
PHIL Baker will be out of action for eight weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury in Sunday's 2-1 Welsh Premier win over Bala Town.
The defender was stretchered-off midway through the second half and, although he will resume running exercises next week, he will be unable to return to training until sometime next month.
Baker joins a lengthening injury list which has seen Chris Marriott and Aeron Edwards both sidelined and not due to return for another three weeks.
In addition, striker Chris Sharp will be unavailable through suspension after being sent-off on Sunday, although the extent of his ban is not yet known.
Former Chester City youngster Connell Rawlinson is likely to fill the breach in defence during Baker's absence after acquitting himself well as a substitute in the Bala game.
