Sharp returns to add a cutting edge
Tuesday 16 March 2010
STRIKER Chris Sharp is back in contention as The New Saints host Porthmadog at Park Hall on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
The two-goal hero at Carmarthen's Richmond Park a week ago, Sharp looks certain to earn a recall after serving a one-match suspension, while midfielder Jamie Wood is also back in contention after his short ban.
The Saints can take over at the top of the table with either a draw or a win over lowly Port, but only three points will be sufficient to keep TNS in realistic contention for the title.
Llanelli are currently level on points at the top, but have two games in hand and a superior goal difference, something which Andy Cale's men will be seeking to rectify against the side from The Traeth.
But there will be no under-estimating Porthmadog, who held the Saints to a 1-1 draw back in December when an Aden Shannon penalty nullified Wood's furst-half goal.
