Matty returns to face depleted Prestatyn

LEADING scorer Matty Williams is set to return as The New Saints head for Bastion Gardens to face depleted Prestatyn Town on Friday night (7.30pm).

Williams missed last weekend’s 3-2 victory over Port Talbot Town, but director of football Mike Davies says: "Matty returned to training in midweek and returns to selection for what will be a very tough game against formidable hosts.
"They have improved each season they have been in the league and we know we will have to play well to get anything."
But the hosts will be without four key players with midfielder Mike Parker and defender Martyn Beattie both suspended, while captain and central defender Dave Hayes and frontman Jon Fisher-Cooke are ruled out with injuries.
Defender Adam France is struggling to overcome a virus and utility man Steve Harris is also battling against illness, while two other players are on the doubtful list.
Nonetheless, Prestatyn player-manager Neil Gibson still believes his team are capable of getting a result against opponents they have yet to beat in nine league attempts.
"Whoever I play I’m still expecting us to get a result," said Gibson.
"The players who will play against TNS have been in my squad all season and I’ve got faith in them all.
"They are all capable of making the step up, the question is whether as a group they can all get it together at the same time alongside the more experienced players.
"This will be their chance to shine.”
Gibson is full of admiration for TNS, who he watched beat Port Talbot last Saturday.
"To be honest it could have finished 8 or 9-2," he added. "They are a very good side who deserve to be where they are. Anyone who finishes above them has a very good chance of winning the league.
"Nonetheless we as a club are often at our best when the odds are against us and I’m sure our fighting spirit will stand us in good stead tonight."
