Davies hails second-half show at Prestatyn
Sunday 30 October 2011
DIRECTOR of football Mike Davies hailed The New Saints' second-half performance in the 2-0 away win at Prestatyn on Friday night.
Goals from Greg Draper and Phil Baker secured the three points and Davies said: "We've played some fantastic stuff this season and the second-half tonight was probably the most professional performance we've had.
"To keep a clean sheet as well was a bonus and we'll take the three points and enjoy the weekend."
Bangor City's 2-0 win at Aberystwyth Town on Saturday left TNS four points clear at the top, while title rivals Neath and Llanelli both dropped two home points on Sunday.
The Reds were held 1-1 by Airbus UK Broughton at Stebonheath Park and had Chad Bond red-carded, which rules him out of Saturday's live televised clash at Park Hall.
Meanwhile, the Eagles were surprisingly held at The Gnoll by local rivals Afan Lido, for whom Mark Jones cancelled out a Kai Edwards goal for the hosts.
