Another shocker from the Saints in Lido defeat

Afan Lido v TNS

THE New Saints slumped to their second successive Welsh Premier defeat, as they were beaten 3-1 by lowly Afan Lido at the Marston's Stadium in Aberavon.

Greg Draper produced an immediate response to Sunday's 3-4 home reverse at the hands of Bangor City by giving TNS the lead after just 19 seconds,side-footing home first time from Alex Darlington's chip into the middle.
But that was as good as it good as the Saints were out-played by Andy Dyer's collection of journeymen, who levelled through Carl Payne following a free-kick on 18 minutes.
Jonathan Hood put the hosts in front just before half-time with a low 30-yard drive, prompting a double substitution at the break as Nicky Ward and Matty Williams were thrown into the fray.
But it failed to produce a goal and Lido's remarkable night was complete as Payne added a third on 57 minutes as some shambolic defending saw the Saints fail to clear their lines.
It was the first time that the hosts have scored more than one goal in any of their 16 league games this season.
