THE New Saints' head coach Carl Darlington hailed a job well done after the six-goal Welsh Cup third round defeat of Welsh Leaguers Bryntirion Athletic.
"Bryntirion won their league last season and we were mindful of their threat,” said Darlington, at the helm for the time being along with player coach Scott Ruscoe following the departure of boss Mike Davies, .
"But we made sure we were right mentally and hit the ground running.
"We dominated the ball, and even when they had possession, they found it hard to do anything with it."
Alex Darlington fired TNS in front after just three minutes, with further goals from Matty Williams, sub Greg Draper and Phil Baker putting the tie out of sight by half-time.
Draper and Simon Spender added more in the second-half to book a place in the fourth round, for which the draw will be shown on S4/C's Sgorio tonight (Monday) at 10.00pm.
