Saints drawing-up shortlist for vacancy
Saints drawing-up shortlist for vacancy
Friday 09 December 2011
THE New Saints are planning to draw up a shortlist as they look to fill their vacant director of football role after receiving more than 50 applications for the post.
The job was advertised after Mike Davies stepped down two weeks ago, and has attracted plenty of interest from candidates from various footballing backgrounds.
With first-team manager Carl Darlington and player coach Scott Ruscoe enjoying two good wins after taking over for the time being, there is no desperate rush to fill the void until the New Year.
Chairman Mike Harris and general manager Ian Williams (pictured) were this week sifting through the applications, before drawing up a shortlist and inviting some for interview.
"We were very pleased with the response," said Williams.
"A full-time job appeals to a lot of people in football and Mike and I will be going through the applicants before inviting some for interview."
