New signings boost for Druids visit

NEWI Cefn Druids v TNS
Michael Wilde returns from suspension.
NEW signings Conall Murtagh and Matthew Berkeley will be expected to play some part when the Saints host NEWI Cefn Druids at Park Hall on Saturday.
Midfielder Murtagh and striker Berkely completed moves on Friday and were registered in time to play, while the management are also boosted by the return from suspension of Michael Wilde and Jamie Wood.
Centre-back Rob Williams also returns after a loan spell at Caersws and could be handed a berth in the back four following the departure of Michael Taylor to Fleetwood Town.
The lowly visitors have enjoyed more success on the road this season and joint manager Waynne Phillips will take heart from a fine recent win at leaders Rhyl.
"To be honest, anything we get against The New Saints will be a bonus but we have shown that on our day we can match the best sides in the league," he said.
The Ancients will be without suspended wingman Mike Thompson, but left back Chris Marriott's loan from Wrexham has been extended until the end of the season.
"The team talks are made easier when we're against the top sides. You always want to be part of playing against the best and to perform against them," added Phillips.
"The match is as tough as they come. We'll be against a top side on a surface we're not used to. They train on it every day and are used to it.
"But we can go there and enjoy the occasion as we did against Rhyl."
With a forecast sunny day and three degrees, the match is certain to go ahead despite the big freeze.
