| Jamie Wood beats Nathan Cotterrall before scoring the opening goal. |
Jamie Wood gave the Saints a 20th-minute lead but, after Sacha Walters levelling with a superb 20-yard strike, two goals from Craig Hughes sealed the Old Gold's success to book a home tie with Port Talbot in the last eight.
"It was disappointing as we would have loved to have gone through, but we've still got the league to go for as well as the League Cup final," said Davies.
"I thought we played quite well in an open game, but you've got to give Carmarthen credit for the way they played and they deserved to get through.
"We made a couple of errors which led to their goals, but we couldn't do a lot about their first goal.
"We've now got to pick ourselves up against Llanelli on Saturday which is a massive game for us," he added.
