| John Toner hit the crossbar for the Saints. |
Bangor’s best spell came just before half time, when they had three efforts cleared off the line in 10 minutes.
Jamie Brewerton was denied by Jamie Wood, Alex Darlington diverted a Les Davies header and Barry Hogan just got the better of Paul McManus.
Chris Seargeant hit the side netting with a 15-yarder, but TNS had their moments. John Toner headed against the bar from a right-wing cross and City were forced into some desperate measures to survive at times.
In the second-half, Matthew Berkeley volleyed just wide and John McKenna miscued from the edge of the box.
But keeper Paul Harrison was forced to pull-off a fine save to stop Seargeant's free-kick and Peter Hoy just failed to get on the end of a cross.
The night ended on a sour note for the Citizens when defender Jamie Brewerton was sent-off for his second caution.
TNS now have 12 days to regroup before the vital game against fellow European contenders Carmarthen at Park Hall.
