And, despite a season which has fallen behind the usual high standards, TNS coach Andy Cale believes his side is in good shape to lift some silverware.
"We did not win anything last year, so it would be nice to go one better this time and win the Loosemore Cup," says Cale. "If we can do that and also qualify for Europe, it's been a pretty good season.
"It was always going to be a period of transition, with a few of the older, experienced players moving on while we've brought in a few younger ones.
"Having said that, we've only lost twice and have got the best defensive record in the league. We're two evenly matched sides and I expect it to be the same on Sunday - it's a game to look forward to."
TNS will be without the suspended Jamie Wood, the injured Alfie Carter and cup-tied Craig Williams.
Bangor need to end a depressing sequence in the showpiece, having lost on all six of their previous appearances, but City boss Nev Powell is keeping his fingers crossed that their luck will change.
"To play TNS on a natural grass surface will help and, as we are all geared up for it and at the same time quite relaxed, we intend to enjoy the occasion."
Three of City's final defeats were on penalties and Powell added: "We have been practising penalty taking at training and, remember, we beat Rhyl in the Welsh Cup in January on penalties by converting each one."
Skipper Marc Limbert and striker Les Davies missed Tuesday's defeat at Cefn Druids with hamstring strains, but are expected to line-up at some stage.
Saints last lifted the trophy three years ago with a 4-0 defeat of Port Talbot Town at Aberystwyth's Park Avenue.
