THE New Saints have everything to play for and a great chance of progressing in Europe for the first time in 11 attempts next Thursday night, according to head coach Andy Cale.

They battled to a 2-1 defeat against Fram Reykjavik in Iceland on Tuesday night, but the result could have been different if things had gone the Saints way after they dominated the opening half-hour.
It was TNS who looked like the home team, as Matthew Berkeley missed a great chance after just four minutes and then had the ball in the net five minutes later, only for his header to be ruled-out.
Steve Evans gained just reward with his header on 23 minutes but, after the hosts went ahead just after half-time, the Saints ran out of steam as their superior match fitness proved a crucial factor.
"Before the game I said I would have liked to have come away with a draw, or even a narrow win, but we’re still in the tie which was our intention going out there," says Andy Cale.
"On our own pitch, there’s certainly everything to play for."
Danny Holmes, who had an impressive debut at right-back, and Pip Baker both picked-up knocks but should be fit for the second leg along with Chris Seargeant, who was relegated to the bench in Iceland, suffering from tentonitis.
Czech outfit Sigma await the winners in the next round.
