DEFENDER Danny Holmes has signed a two-year deal with The New Saints after impressing in pre-season and as a non-contract player in the Europa League ties against FRAM Reykjavik.
The 20-year-old, who can operate at right-back or in the centre of defence, arrives at the club from Tranmere Rovers, where he signed a one-year deal in July 2007 which was extended a year later.
The younger brother of TNS stalwart and club appearance record-holder Tommy Holmes, Danny went on a month long loan to Southport in December 2007 before making his first team debut for the Prenton Park outfit at Yeovil Town in November 2008.
He started in both legs of the first qualifying round Europa League ties against the Icelanders.
"The club is delighted that Danny has committed himself for the next two years after attracting the attention of a number of English League clubs and it proves that we are serious about maintaining a challenge for honours next season and building a talented squad that will be around for many years to come," says general manager Ian Williams.
