Defensive qualities please Cale

HEAD coach Andy Cale praised The New Saints' battling qualities that produced Saturday's 2-1 home win over Airbus UK Broughton.
There were several anxious moments in the second half as the Saints defended a 2-1 lead courtesy of goals from Steve Abbott and Jamie Wood.
"Airbus are a fantastic side, they came here and came back when they could have folded," Cale said.
"They put us under a lot of pressure second half and I was delighted at the way in which we defended and battled a win.
"Last season we would have drawn or even lost this one and to win the league we need to win games like that and I felt we did that very, very comfortably.
"What particularly pleases me at the moment is the team's application which is excellent.
"It's been a good start, but it's only a start with a long road ahead," he added.
