Saints away to Conwy in Welsh Cup
Monday 14 September 2009
THE New Saints have been drawn away to Conwy United in the second round of the FAW Welsh Cup.
Saints have never played Conwy in the competition - their last meeting was in the Welsh Premier back in February 2000 when the visitors went down to a 7-0 defeat at Treflan.
Conwy were one of the founder members of the League of Wales in 1992 and played for eight seasons in the top flight before relegation in May 2000, when they opted to drop two rungs in the pyramid into the Welsh Alliance, where they still play their trade.
Former TNS manager Ken McKenna holds the club scoring record with 38 goals in 1995/6.
The tie, at Morfa Conwy, is scheduled for Saturday 3 October 2009.
