CONALL Murtagh came off the bench for only his second league appearance of the season and scored to give The New Saints a 1-0 win at Bangor City's Farrar Road.

With time running out, Murtagh produced a clinical volley into the far corner from eight yards out after a penalty box scramble in which fellow sub Ryan Marriott won the ball to set-up the chance.
The Saints deserved to take the spoils for a second-half comeback in which they created several opportunities.
Scott Ruscoe's long range lob landed on the roof of the net and Steve Evans crashed a header against the bar before the ball dropped on the line and was cleared to safety following a Danny Holmes cross.
Marriott lashed a shot across the face of goal and just wide of the far post before crashing another shot inches wide and into the hoardings.
Home keeper Paul Smith made a good save from Steve Abbott and Matthew Berkeley also went close.
Earlier, City were left to rue some missed chances with both Mark Smyth and Ashley Stott just failing to connect with an inviting Dave Swanick cross, while Paul Harrison saved well from Stott.
Clive Williams powered a header straight at Harrison from Jamie Reed's cross, but most of the second-half belonged to the Saints and Murtagh's winner was just reward, although City came within inches of an equaliser from a Brewerton header.
“Bangor set out their stall and played fantastically well, but in the second half we took the game to them and I felt we thoroughly deserved the win,” said head coach Andy Cale.
