Cale delighted as Saints battle back

HEAD coach Andy Cale was relieved to settle for a point after Scott Ruscoe's late free-kick pegged Newtown back in a 2-2 draw at Park Hall on Friday night.
"To come from 2-1 down and keep playing and then get a point when it didn't look as though we were going to at one point, I'm delighted," he said.
The New Saints' early lead courtesy of Ryan Marriott was soon wiped out by a Damien Daniels header and, missing Steve Evans at the back, defensive frailties were again in evidence as Robbie James headed the Robins in front.
Newtown manager Darren Ryan said: "I'm a bit disappointed to be fair.
"Fair play, in my eyes they are the best team we've played this season.
"We've now played the top three sides in a row and we‘ve been close in all of them."
Ruscoe's free-kick goal was no less than the Saints deserved after missing some gilt-edged chances earlier in the game, the most glaring a third-minute headed chance for Aeron Edwards.
Marriott could also have added to his tally, while Ruscoe saw his chip from the edge of the box hit the top of the crossbar.
