League postpones Porthmadog away trip
Friday 02 October 2009
THE New Saints' Welsh Premier fixture at Porthmadog, scheduled for Saturday October 10, has been postponed.
Porthmadog requested that the game be moved to either the Friday or Sunday of next weekend, to avoid a clash with live television coverage of the Wales international in Finland.
Plans for the TV screening were only announced at the beginning of this week and the FAW's international committee advised clubs that they could re-arrange matches at their discretion.
Only one other fixture - Bangor v Aberystwyth - has thus far been changed and TNS were unable to accede to Porthmadog's request for a switch at such short notice.
The clubs must now agree a new, midweek date between themselves within the next seven days, or have a date imposed on them by the league.
