A MASSIVE effort to clear tons of snow from the Park Hall pitch means that the New Year's Day game against Welshpool is set to go ahead.
Management duo Andy Cale and Mike Davies led the way with the whole of the first-team squad, assisted by stewards and even Spot the Dog with shovels, wheelbarrows and an assortment of makeshift implements on New Year's Eve.
By early afternoon, more than half the surface had been cleared and the players were able to train on the pitch.
"I would like to thank everyone who has helped to get the game on," says managing director Mike Harris, who was also spotted wielding a shovel.
"It was a great effort and this could well be one of the few games in the area to be played on New Year's Day.
"We would welcome the help of any supporters again on Friday morning to assist in clearing up the remaining areas of the ground."
