Three players win contract extensions
Wednesday 13 January 2010
THREE young members of The New Saints' first-team squad have been awarded contract extensions until the end of season 2010/11.
Aeron Edwards (pictured), Chris Marriott and Alex Darlington's futures at the club have all been secured for another 18 months.
Edwards has impressed since arriving at the club last summer from Caersws and, in addition to scoring four Welsh Premier goals from 11 (+2) appearances, has also been rewarded with more call-ups to the Wales Under-23 semi-professional side.
Marriott, who is a former captain of Wrexham Reserves, has secured the left-back position, making 15 (+1) league appearances since joining TNS following his release from the Racecourse.
Darlington's season started with a serious foot injury, but he has returned to the side in recent weeks and scored his first-ever hat-trick for the club in the New Year's Day defeat of Welshpool.
