Saints bid to improve goal tally at Caersws
Saturday 10 April 2010
THE New Saints' Welsh Premier title bid continues on Saturday with a visit to the Recreation Ground, the home of lowly Caersws.
Buoyed by two dropped points for title rivals Llanelli in Friday night's draw at Aberystwyth, the Saints now have the destiny of the crown in their own hands by dint of a better goal difference, something which they will be bidding to improve even further against the struggling Bluebirds.
The mid-Wales village venue has been a happy hunting ground for the Saints in recent seasons with victories on the last four visits, most-recently a 6-2 win in a fog-shrouded game back in November 2008, when four goals in the first 23 minutes put the visitors in total control.
TNS also won this season's home fixture against Caersws 4-0 with goals from Jamie Wood, Ryan Marriott, Alex Darlington and Chris Seargeant..
