MATTHEW Berkeley's goal was enough for The New Saints to prise three points away from Welshpool's Maesydre and maintain a nine-point lead over title rivals Llanelli.

Craig Jones carved the opening on 50 minutes, beating his marker down the right before crossing for Berkeley to head past keeper Dave Maguire from the edge of the six-yard box.
It was no more than the Saints deserved after dominating for most of the game, but route one tactics in the first-half on a dry and bobbly surface failed to reap any reward.
Berkeley was just over the target with a 20-yarder and then had the ball in the net from a one-two with Craig Jones, but was correctly flagged offside.
John Boardman cleared a goal-bound Steve Evans header to safety and the Welsh international headed over from the subsequent corner.
A more cultured approach after the break soon paid dividends with a goal for Berkeley, who then headed wide from a Tommy Holmes cross and was inches over with a 20-yarder.
An Evans free-kick eluded everyone in the box and flashed agonisingly wide of the near post, while Scott Ruscoe's shot-cum-cross was tipped over by Maguire.
Welshpool rarely threatened, but Marc Griffiths caused a moment of panic on the break before shooting wide.
And it was Berkeley who almost had the last word with another shot from outside the box that whistled just over the bar.
