AFTER spending last season on-loan with the Saints, Steve Abbott has become the second signing for new AFC Telford United boss Andy Sinton.
Midfielder Steve, who was pressed into service as a striker by TNS, scored five goals from 15 (+9) Welsh Premier appearances before returning to Wrexham at the end of campaign, when he was released by manager Dean Saunders at the end of a two-year contract. After starting his career with Wigan Athletic and playing for Leigh RMI, Congleton Town and St Helens Town, Abbott decided to study for a career in teaching and scored 30 goals in 80 appearances for Team Bath, helping them gain promotion to the Conference South.
The Saints will have an early opportunity to face Abbott when they host the Bucks in a friendly at Park Hall on Tuesday July 6 (kick-off 7.30pm).
