THE New Saints have agreed a new deal with stalwart midfielder Jamie Wood, which will keep him at Park Hall for his eighth season with the club.
The 31-year-old former Manchester United man was not offered terms at the end of the last campaign, but has trained with the squad through the summer and played a part in both legs of the Champions League tie against Bohemians.Wood met with managing director Mike Harris and manager Mike Davies on Monday to pen new terms and Davies says: "I'm delighted Jamie is going to be a part of our squad again next season.
"He has been a model professional during pre-season and remains an important part of our plans."
In a stop-start early career plagued by injury, Woody was a trainee at Old Trafford from 1997 to 1999 and spent time on-loan in Belgium with Royal Antwerp.
Also capped by the Cayman Islands, he joined Swansea City on a one year contract for 2002/3 but was injured during the season and was released on a free in May 2003.
Since joining TNS in July 2003, he has scored 38 goals from 132 (+28) Welsh Premier appearances and made 10 full and four substitute appearances in Uefa competitions.
