Young Saints' duo re-united with Cale

Jones and Whitfield

YOUNG TNS duo Sean Jones and Craig Whitfield have been loaned to Newtown, where former Saints' head coach Andy Cale has just taken charge.

"They are young, fit and very talented individuals who will benefit from regular football and we are grateful to The New Saints for allowing their release," says Cale.
A product of the TNS Scholarship Scheme who is highly thought of by the coaching staff at Park Hall, striker Whitfield - who turns 21 on Monday - has made three Welsh Premier starts for the first team and also appeared 25 (+3) times for Cefn Druids during a season-long loan at Plas Kynaston last season.
Defender Jones is also Scholarship product who was awarded a pro contract for season 2009/10 and was loaned to Druids in January 2010, before returning to win a League Cup winner's medal against Rhyl in April.
Also arriving at Latham Park is experienced defender Michael Jackson, who played under Cale while making 47 (+13) appearances for the Saints between 2004 and 2007.
"Michael Jackson played for me at The New Saints and has also figured at Welshpool. He has vast experience and was captain at Droylsden last season."
