Davies relieved to hear the final whistle

MANAGER Mike Davies was relieved to come away from Maes Tegid with three points and The New Saints' first away league win of the season.
"I was glad to hear the final whistle," Davies admitted. "Credit to Bala, we were 4-1 up at half-time and in control of the game and it was a very difficult second-half.
"It was a game for the attackers tonight and not so much for the defenders, we were quite fortunate in the end really.
"We could have been better but the conditions made it difficult to play and we can take a lot of credit because it's our first win away from home in the league and I'm very pleased with that.
"Spectator-wise it was entertaining, lots of goals and lots of chances, but not so much for the management of both teams.
"It could have gone either way and there could have been a lot more goals from both teams, so we've just got to be pleased with the 4-3 win and leave it at that."
Hat-trick hero Matty Williams agreed with his manager's assessment: "Personally I'm always pleased to score goals, but 4-1 up at half time, we should have seen the game out second-half but we made it difficult for ourselves.
"But, at the end of the day and taking the conditions into account, we'll take the three points."
