Saints open new games facility at Llanfyllin School
Thursday 18 November 2010
THE New Saints trained at Llanfyllin High School earlier this week to mark the opening of a new multi-use games area.
In 2008, the school was fortunate enough to receive a bequest from ex-pupil Miss Dorothy Bynner Jones of Pant, and it was decided to use the money along with additional cash raised bypupils on sponsored walks to fund the venture.
"We are delighted that we have been able to build this facility at the school, as it will be a fantastic addition to our PE department’s facilities and also provide the local community with an area that they can utilise outside of the school day," says Rhys Stephens who is sports coordinator of Powys County.
"We believe that this is an asset that will benefit both the school and the town for many years to come.
Llanfyllin High School wishes to thank TNS Football Club, manager Mike Davies and his players for their support in agreeing to come to open the MUGA, it is greatly appreciated by all here," he added.
