10-man Saints lose their 100% home record

TNS v BangorTHE New Saints remain 10 points behind leaders Bangor City after twice surrendering the lead in a 2-2 draw at Park Hall, the first time they have failed to win at home this season.

A Dave Morley penalty in the 53rd-minute, after Aeron Edwards was adjudged to have fouled during a melee in the box, earned the Citizens a 2-2 draw, and the 10-man Saints were left hanging on for a point after having wing back Danny Holmes dismissed three minutes earlier for denying Alan Bull a clear goal scoring opportunity.
The Saints got the perfect start after nine minutes when Craig Jones finished a fine run down the right by swinging an inch-perfect cross to the far post for Richie Partridge to hammer into the roof of the net.
City lost throw-in specialist Peter Hoy to an injury but, after Les Davies had missed a good chance to level, Bangor equalised when Bull swept a Chris Jones cross past keeper Paul Harrison.
TNS restored their lead on 38 minutes when Edwards forced the ball home after keeper Paul Smith had only parried a Jones shot.
TNS were disrupted with Partridge forced-off during the half-time break and Matty Williams also substituted with an injury in the second-half.
But the visitors were unable to capitalise on their one-man advantage despite creating several openings and were lucky not to have keeper Smith sent-off in stoppage time for kicking-out at an opponent.
