Cup final woes for Saints' opponents
Cup final woes for Saints' opponents
Saturday 22 January 2011
BOTH sides have players suspended for Saturday's League Cup final between TNS and Llanelli at Aberystwyth Town's Park Avenue.
But it is the Reds who have the most problems - with leading marksman Rhys Griffiths already banned after being sent-off against Neath in midweek, the Stebonheath outfit have now been told that Owain Warlow is suspended from all football.
The former Lincoln City wingman faces charges of technical assault and using foul and abusive language to referee Mark Whitby after the final whistle in the 1-1 draw at The Gnoll.
Manager Andy Legg also has other injury woes with striker Craig Moses sidelined, while Jordan Follows and Chris Llewellyn are both doubtful for the live TV clash.
The Saints have wing-back Danny Holmes banned from the game after his dismissal in Tuesday night's 2-2 draw at home to Bangor City.
Llanelli were the last side to win the trophy before TNS started to dominate the competition with victories in the past two seasons, beating Bangor City in 2009 and Rhyl last year.
Wales boss Gary Speed will present the trophy to the winners, who also receive £10,000.
