Massive cup incentive for the Saints
Massive cup incentive for the Saints
Friday 04 February 2011
THE New Saints have a massive incentive to win Saturday's re-arranged Welsh Cup fourth round tie against Rhyl at Belle Vue (3.10pm kick-off).
Whoever wins the clash will have a home tie in the quarter-finals at the end of February against minnows Cardiff Grange Quins, who currently play in the Welsh League Division Three, the fourth tier of the pyramid.
Both sides should be at virtually full strength for the contest, although the Lilywhites lost former TNS midfielder to Airbus UK Broughton last week and have releases striker Stuart Rudd.
The Saints have Danny Holmes still carrying a suspension after being sent-off against Bangor City.
'"We have a fully fit squad to pick from and everyone is desperate to play," says Rhyl boss Greg Strong.
"It is a game for my young team to enjoy and test themselves against a very good team. We have belief in our ability and will give it everything we have to get the right result."
For TNS players Chris Sharp and Matty Williams, it marks a return to the ground where they have played previously in the home team's colours.
For anyone unable to get to the game, it will be screened live on S4/C Television.
