THE New Saints have agreed a contract extension with midfielder Richie Partridge, which will keep him at Park Hall until the end of season 2011/12. A former Liverpool trainee and Irish Under-21 international midfielder who made three League Cup appearances during an injury-strewn four years at Anfield, the 30-year-old arrived at TNS at the end of August and has since scored 11 goals from 17 Welsh Premier appearances in green and white.
During a Football League career which yielded 13 goals from 154 appearances, Dublin-born Partridge played for Bristol Rovers, Coventry City - where he was voted fans' player of the season - Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham, Chester City, MK Dons and Stockport County, where he was released last summer.
The brother-in-law of Michael Owen, Partridge has a first class degree in physiotherapy at the University of Salford, where he is now studying for a Masters degree in Football Rehabilitation.
"I am delighted that Richie has agreed to extend his contract," says The New Saints' manager Mike Davies.
"He has been a model professional since arriving at the club and the fact we can attract and retain players of his calibre is an excellent sign."
