ALEX Darlington led the way with a brace as The New Saints ran out comfortable 4-0 winners at home to Prestatyn Town. The Saints never really looked back once Darlington had fired them into a third-minute lead, running from the halfway line and outpacing Seasiders' player-boss Neil Gibson before planting a shot inside keeper Jon Hill-Dunt's near post.
Matty Williams hit the crossbar at full stretch from a Craig Jones cross soon afterwards, but the Seasiders caused a couple of scares, notably through Steve Rogers and Lee Hunt.
Williams headed narrowly over from a corner but TNS established a two-goal cushion just before the break.
Chris Davies was somewhat harshly adjudged to have brought down Richie Partridge and Williams made no mistake from the penalty spot.
Dunt's misdirected throw went straight to Jones on the hour and the wingman crossed for Darlington to net from close range for his 13th league goal of the campaign.
But the goal of the game came from Chris Seargeant, who lashed a 25-yarder beyond Dunt and into the bottom corner in stoppage time.
The win closed the gap to five points behind leaders Bangor City, who are next-up at Park Hall on Saturday week.
