THE NEW SAINTS face a month of games on the road, starting with Friday night's trip to meet Neath at The Gnoll. While it promises to be a tough spell, the Saints go into tonight's game buoyed by last weekend’s vital 3-2 win over Bangor City, which has left them just three points behind the leaders with a game in hand and a superior goal difference
In contrast, Bangor have three home games on the bounce and manager Mike Davies admits it is a key spell in the second phase of season which could go a long way to determining the destiny of the Welsh Premier crown.
"We’ve got a tough run of away games in the next month and anything can happen, but if we can come through it with points on the board it will really set us up," he said.
"But it won't be easy. Neath have said they are targetting second place, and to do that they will need to beat us.
"We’re expecting a very difficult game, but we can go there feeling positive.
"Last week was a massive win for us, had Bangor won or even drawn it would have given them a big advantage.
"As it is, they still have a slight advantage but are now looking over their shoulders.
"I thought we showed a lot of character after going a goal behind after just two minutes. We came back well, played some good football and, although they had their chances at the end, we created a lot of chances ourselves."
