Boss backing Saints to silence Farrar faithful

Mike DaviesMANAGER Mike Davies is backing The New Saints to handle the heat in today’s title showdown at Bangor City.
The defending champions need just to draw to retain the crown but, with Bangor having home advantage.
Two coachloads of supporters will make the journey to Bangor to occupy the 104 seat allocation in an otherwise partisan crowd and the pressure is sure to be intense
"Both Bangor and ourselves have set the standards this season and it’s fitting that we should be playing each other in the last game with the title at stake," says Davies.
"It’s a great finish for the league, and it’s now come down to a cup final situation.
"We both started the season with big games in Europe, and we’re now finishing the season with another big game, this time in the league.
"It’s going to be tough, but we would have taken this when we were 16 points behind halfway through the season.
"Bangor have done brilliantly this season and are sure to have a big crowd behind them. But we’ll roll up our sleeves and will be up for the challenge. We’ll be positive and will be going for a win as we always do."
Phil Baker and Tommy Holmes are likely to be missing from the heart of defence after struggling with injuries, but Davies is hopeful wingman Craig Jones can defy a groin strain to play.
But the boss will be watching from the stands, not the dugout, as he starts a two-game touchline ban.
