THE New Saints' scholars lifted the NEWFA Under-19 cup with a 3-1 win over Brickfield Rangers in the final.Beaten in last year's final, TNS went one better at Stansty Park despite going a goal down when Liam Sklenar scored in the 33rd minute.
The Saints capitalised on a static defensive line on the stroke of half-time and the impressive Charlie Proctor finished coolly when left one-on-one with Chris Green in the Bricky goal.
The second half saw TNS try to impose themselves by pressing higher up the pitch, but Brickfield battled hard and created enough opportunities of their own.
But, with 19 minutes remaining and the game at a stalemate, TNS finally got their noses in front through that man Proctor again, who was again left bearing down on goal and finished very neatly past the on-rushing keeper.
Just six minutes later the game was finally settled as Saints got their third goal of the night with a neat finish in the box from substitute Scott Quigley.
