THE New Saints will represent Wales in the UEFA Futsal Cup after winning the inaugural FAW Futsal Cup in Cardiff on Sunday. After losing their opening game 5-4 to GAP Connah's Quay, a young Saints team managed by Academy coaches Andy Poole and Eric Ramsey, later beat the Nomads 7-4 in the final.
The duo had progressed from their group at the expense of Merthyr Town and CSKA Talybont, who were eliminated on goal difference despite winning two games.
In the semi-finals, TNS beat futsal specialists Cardiff Cymru 3-0 and then showed their strength in depth in the final game, despite having Ramsey sent-off in the first half.
TNS raced to a 5-1 lead at the interval, with younger brother Alex Ramsey outstanding in goal.
Barry Haralambous and Ross Frame were a constant threat for the Saints who always looked comfortable to claim the prize of £1,500 and a place in Europe.
