FELLOW Europa League contenders Cliftonville snatched a stoppage time winner in a warm-up game at Park Hall on Saturday. The New Saints had carved a first-half lead over their visitors from north Belfast thanks to debutant Greg Draper, who latched-on to a 26th-minute through ball from Craig Jones before rolling the ball into the net from the edge of the box.
New signing Greg Draper almost made it two on the stroke of half-time, but first time shot from a Jones cross rattled the angle of crossbar and post.
The Reds levelled eight minutes after the break when Martin Donnelly took advantage of some slack defending to fire low past keeper Paul Harrison's despairing dive.
Visiting keeper Paul McKane made a superb save to turn over a curling effort from Chris Williams before only Stephen Spender and Steve Evans of the outfield players survived a mass substitution by the Saints on the hour mark.
Jody Lynch could have grabbed a second for Cliftonville in the 80th-minute, firing over the bar after benefitting from misplaced Matty Williams pass but, in a breakway stoppage time move, Joe Gormley chipped a 20-yarder over Harrison for the winner.
