Evo's piledriver sets TNS on the path to victory

THE New Saints turned in an impressive performance to beat Neath, the league's only other full-time club, 3-0 at Park Hall.
The Saints never looked back after forging a seventh-minute lead thanks to Steve Evans, who unleashed a piledriver from the edge of the box after being put through by Greg Draper, and his shot beat Neath keeper Lee Kendall all ends up via the underside of the crossbar.
Paul Harrison got down well to save from an Ian Hillier header on the quarter hour, but Alex Darlington almost doubled the lead when his powerful strike was blocked following a Craig Jones corner.
Harrison beat a Craig Hughes shot away for a corner but the Eagles were reduced to 10-men just past the half hour when Kai Edwards got a deserved red card for an ugly challenge on Jones.
Darlington went close again with a 20-yarder just before the break, while there strong claims for a penalty when Draper appeared to be brought down from behind in the box.
But the Kiwi international added to the tally nine minutes into the second half with his second goal in as many games, forcing home from Chris Seargeant's ball at the second attempt past a hesitant Kendall.
And the win was well and truly sealed on 69 minutes when Draper's volleyed effort found Darlington who nicked the ball beyond Kendall.
