THE New Saints' striker Greg Draper performed the official opening ceremony for the re-branded Wilkinson store in Oswestry today.

The Kiwi international cut the ribbon along with club mascot Spot the Dog to unveil the home and garden retailer’s new look in New Street to the public.
As part of Wilkinsons’ commitment to the local community, strore manager Duncan Tipton presented Greg with a cheque donation to The New Saints' Academy, which develops young sporting talent in the area.
On behalf of the store’s chosen charity, Hope House Hospice, area fundraiser Sarah Elms also received a donation to go towards the vital services it provides for terminally ill children, young people and their families.
Following the ribbon cutting, shoppers queued up to get Greg’s autograph and posed for photographs alongside Spot.
To raise money for Age UK, Wilkinsons’ charity of the year, staff members also hosted a raffle, with one lucky customer walking away with a jam packed hamper full of toys from the ‘New Toys’ range, including a musical camera, ‘Dino-Hunter’ board game and ‘My Little Pet.’
Duncan commented: "The re-launch has been a great success and the day was made even more special by Greg and Spot the Dog’s attendance. Customers were queuing for photographs and autographs from Oswestry’s very own football star and Spot really got everyone in the celebratory spirit.
“The store now looks better than ever and we’ve already received some fantastic compliments from our customers about the bright, modern design, and easy to navigate new layout.”
Greg said: “It has been an absolute pleasure joining Wilkinson today as the store unveiled its rebranded image and I know the donation will be gratefully received by the Academy.”
