ALFIE'S FITNESS BOOST FOR CALE
Alfie Carter
Alfie Carter is back in form.
THE New Saints' head coach Andy Cale has cited Alfie Carter's return to fitness for turning up the heat on Llanelli and Rhyl for the Welsh Premier title.
"He's a confidence player, and that rubs off on the rest of the team," Cale told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"He had a few injuries early in the season, but he kept working, got himself fit, and his two goals against Connah's Quay last week were fantastic.
"When he's on good form he'll always create chances and score goals."
Carter, who joined the Saints from AFC Telford in August 2005, was transfer-listed towards the end of last season, but has returned to the ranks to notch five goals from his six (+3) league appearances this season.
In all, he has scored 20 goals from 44 starts since joining the club.
