Football has been played in Caersws since the 1870s when Caersws Red Rose and Caersws British were rivals.
Caersws F C were founder members of the Cymru Alliance in 1990 finishing runners up, then as Champions in 1992 joined the LoW as founder members.
The 2000-01 season saw Caersws achieve their highest ever LoW placing and defeat Barry Town in the League Cup Final to add some silverware to a fine season. The Cup was retained in 2002, a season which saw the Bluebirds finish in fourth place in the LoW.
Caersws were drawn against PFC Marek (Bulgaria) in the Intertoto Cup and lost 3-1 on aggregate, gaining a 1-1 draw in the home leg at Aberystwyth.
