Club wins FAW's inaugural fair play prize

THE New Saints had the best disciplinary record as they won the Welsh Premier League and Welsh Cup double.

As a result, TNS has won the inaugural FAW Fair Play Award which carries a £1000 prize which can be used towards ground improvements and new equipment.
With two red cards and 53 cautions, the Saints totalled 234 points, 34 less than runners-up Airbus UK Broughton and Newtown.
The FAW says: There is incentive for players, clubs and supporters alike to demonstrate positive fair play throughout the footballing season.
"Launched at the beginning of the 2011/12 season, the aim of the FAW Fair Play Award is to encourage a reduction in on-field misconduct and to promote the FAW Fair Play Code.
"In addition, the FAW Fair Play Award aims to promote the positive ideology it wishes the footballing community to adopt."
