Scotty takes over all-time list

SCOTT Ruscoe has taken over as The New Saints' all-time record appearance holder in the Welsh Premier League.

With previous leader Tommy Holmes sidelined for much of this season, Scott's start against Neath on Saturday was his 228th for the club since signing from Chester City in January 2002, eclipsing the 227 made by his defensive colleague.
The tireless 31-year-old midfielder has since won three league titles with the club, as well as Welsh, FAW Premier and League Cup medals.
His consistent performances in 2003/4 earned him a place in the Welsh semi-professional side that won the Four Nations trophy and he was named as a member of the league's dream team in 2004/5 and 2005/6.
He was also voted the TNS players' player of the year in 2004/5 and supporters' player of the season in 2007/8.
Ruscoe has started in six Champions League, two Europa League and eight Uefa Cup ties.
With his 92 starts for Newtown prior to joining Chester, he has made a grand total of 320 league appearances since 1997.
