Copsewood hit back to deny ladies

TWO second-half goals gave Copsewood a 2-1 win as TNS Ladies slumped to a home defeat at Park Hall on Sunday.

The girls paid the penalty for a host of missed first-half chances as they failed to produce their usual fluent passing game in windy conditions against the Coventry-based visitors.
Only a superb flying save by Natasha Smithers prevented Kim Bebbington from giving TNS the lead, but the keeper turned from hero to villain just before half-time.
She saved from Emily Ridge, but then dropped the ball at the feet of Sarah Burke who rolled the ball into an empty net.
The visitors levelled on 64 minutes with a far post header from Rebecca Green following a corner and the game was up for the hosts eight minutes later when Jodie McGuckin set-up Amanda Whalley who steered the winner into the corner past the despairing grasp of Angela Birkett.
