Relieved Darlo gets the all-clear
Friday 13 November 2021
THERE was good news for The New Saints' midfielder Alex Darlington this week as he was given the all-clear from a specialist on his injured foot.
The former Wrexham man has been out of action since injuring his foot in a pre-season friendly at Colwyn Bay's Llanellian Road way back on the first day of August.
He has since spent a frustrating time on the sidelines but, having already resumed light training, could even be set to be named as a substitute for the crucial Welsh Premier fixture away to Llanelli on Sunday.
It is not the first time that the 20-year-old has been forced to fight his way back from fitness - Darlo suffered two broken legs within 12 months while a first-year professional at the Racecourse Ground.
Since signing contract terms with TNS in June last year, he has scored 11 league goals in 27 starts and also made a prominent contribution in April's League Cup final success against Bangor City.
