Another clean sheet extends remarkable record

A 21ST clean sheet of the season in Saturday's 6-0 Welsh Cup defeat of Llandudno Junction extended a remarkable defensive record for The New Saints.

Since Rhys Griffiths scored in the fourth minute of the League Cup tie at home to Llanelli on October 27, the Saints have surrendered just one goal in 14 games in all competitions - a penalty in the 1-1 draw at Porthmadog on December 15.
And keeper Paul Harrison and the defence have not conceded a goal from open play in 1,346 minutes of football, a remarkable record.
The meanest defence in the Welsh Premier has conceded just eight goals this season, almost half as many as their nearest defensive rivals Port Talbot, who have leaked 15.
While the back four of Danny Holmes, Pip Baker, Steve Evans and Chris Marriott deserve credit for the feat, Harrison has also played a key role, making some superb saves and managing to stay alert despite long periods of inactivity in many games.
