Carl Darlington joins as assistant manager

CARL Darlington has been appointed as assistant manager of The New Saints following the recent elevation of Mike Davies to the post of manager.

Darlington joins from Airbus UK Broughton, where he has been assistant to manager Craig Harrison during the Wingmakers' most successful season ever in the top flight of Welsh domestic football.
The Uefa A licensed coach who, like Mike Davies, is currently working towards his Pro licence qualification, previously served as first team coach under joint managers Lee Jones and Waynne Phillips at Cefn Druids.
A Regional Coaching Co-ordinator with the Welsh Football Trust, Darlington is also a tutor on the FAW UEFA 'A' Licence courses and also National Manager for the Welsh U16's womens squad.
"Firstly, I would like to thank Craig Harrison and the rest of the Airbus staff, players and committee for their support over the past 12 months," says Darlington.
"As I look forward, I’m honoured to be given the opportunity to become assistant manager at TNS. I’m fully aware of the tremendous success that the club have had over previous years but look forward in supporting Mike Davies build and progress the club for years to come."
TNS chief operating officer Ian Williams added: "We are delighted that Carl has agreed to be part of our management team for next season.
"Although still a young coach, he has a wealth of experience in the game at all levels, and will be a great asset to the club."
