Five-star Under-19s win at Aberystwyth

THE New Saints claimed the scalp of Aberystwyth Town with a 5-1 win in the Welsh Premier Under-19 League away at Park Avenue on Sunday.

Naim Arsan led the way with a brace, while Scott Quigley, Aaron Simms and Ryan Jones added further goals in an excellent victory that keeps the Saints in contention for the title.
TNS began strongly and quickly scored two goals through Arsan, the second a strong finish from outside the area, which went in off the inside of the post.
The young Saints continued to have chances, Quigley having two powerful efforts which went straight at keeper Adam Hopley.
The stopper was again called into action when Ryan Jones unleashed a fabulous free kick from 30 yards, which was well saved.
TNS continued to press throughout the half and probably would have been further in front if it were not for Adam Carvell in defence, whose pace was seemingly the only cause for concern in the first half.
Arsan had his chances to get his hat-trick before half time, but it was Ryan Jones who got the third, when he tucked away after the ball had hit the bar.
Simms volleyed the next goal from a corner after the break but the home side refused to lie down and Alex Samuel was awarded a penalty when he was brought down by Simms, but keeper Alex Ramsay pushed away the spot kick from Rhydian Davies.
Aber finally got a deserved goal from a long Gethin Jones free kick which was slotted home by Liam James, but Quigley had the last word in the final minutes.
