Saints hit back from two down to beat Robins

TRAILING two-nil after 56 minutes, The New Saints hit back to beat Newtown 4-2 in their final Loosemores League Cup game at Latham Park, where they lifted the trophy in April.
With the Saints already qualified for the quarter-finals, only pride was at stake in a rain-lashed Newtown, and the Saints fell behind on 13 minutes when defender Chris Marriott could only divert a Ross Stephens cross into his own net.
It got worse for TNS on 56 minutes when Sean Jones fouled Stephens, who stepped-up to send his penalty past keeper Paul Harrison.
But, within seconds, the visitors pulled a goal back when John McKenna fed Scott Ruscoe, who beat two markers before sending a superb 22 yarded inside the left-hand post.
The Saints levelled on the hour with a sliderule finish from Matthew Berkeley before sealing the game with two more goals.
Sean Jones found Craig Jones wide on the right and he held off challenges before slotting past advancing keeper Dave Maguire on 77 minutes.
And three minutes later the victory was complete when Chris Seargeant, wide on the left, spotted Maguire off his line and sent a 25 yarder into the far corner.
